Rosemary Hegner, Director of Capability & Planning, Resilience NSW

Rosemary is currently the Director of Capability & Planning for Resilience NSW and is responsible for leading projects to determine best practice around prevention and preparedness for Natural Disasters.

Rosemary has worked with the NSW Ambulance & NSW Health for the past 35 years as an Intensive Care Paramedic, Educator, Redesign engineer and Emergency Manager and holds an Executive Masters in Public Administration, Bachelor Nursing and Bachelor Health Science (Pre-Hospital Care).

Rosemary was previously responsible for NSW Health emergency preparedness and has had first-hand experience in emergency management coordination of the health response through events including the 2011 Queensland Floods, Cyclone Yasi, Christchurch earthquake, Quakers Hill Nursing Home fire, Repatriation of the Australian victims of the White Island volcanic explosion and more recently the 2019/20 bushfires.

Rosemary’s role in Resilience NSW contributes to the preparedness of communities and the recovery from the bushfires and COVID-19.
